Joe Fraser Chartered Surveyors Covid-19 Inspection Policy
Following the latest government announcement JFCS will continue to carry out physical inspections of property in line with the published government guidance.
To protect all involved, surveyors will only enter a property on the following basis:
A risk assessment will be carried out when the inspection is booked (see flowchart attached).
A follow up call will be made the day before inspection to ensure there have been no changes.
During the lockdown, we have implemented additional distancing measures and will request that the property is vacated for the internal inspection. If that is not possible then we request that all occupants stay in one room during the internal inspection (this room will be excluded from the survey).
We appreciate that this can be frustrating for occupiers of property, especially when working from home and with schools closed. However, it is our priority to take all reasonable safety measures during this time.
On occasions where this is not possible, we shall look to postpone the survey until less restrictive measures are in force.
Surveyors will wear a mask and gloves for the inspection, as well as sanitising prior to entry of the property.
Doors and windows
Please open all internal doors to rooms and built in cupboards (e.g. landing and under stairs) with windows opened to allow some ventilation prior to the internal inspection.
The safety of all involved remains our highest priority and we thank you for your understanding.
